Congratulations! You read all the way through that pile of stuff (or at least scanned past it—good enough). So what better way to thank you for sticking with me through that than…more stuff! This time, though, it’s of the more esoteric variety.

Remember your crazy great uncle getting all bent out of shape because he swore up and down his vinyl records sounded better than CDs of the same recordings? Well, the APS published an article in their Journal of Neurophysiology that you might like to read (don’t worry, it’s short). The gist? Your crazy great uncle was right.

Also on a music-related note, Audio Technology has an interesting set of videos that show a somewhat positive take on the issue of manufacturing globalization (specifically documenting a Chinese plant’s operations). As with any issue, it seems things are more complex than the vitriol of either side would lead you to believe.

And finally, what would a music-blog-links page be without a nice EFF link? In this case, an article about how Universal Music Group apparently considers discarding promo discs “piracy”.
